I have been invited to speak this week at a community memorial service in Springboro. I have participated in this event the past few years and look forward to doing it again this year. Here is the difference. I am one of the bereaved. In past years, I stood in front of many families whose hearts were broken over the loss of a loved one. This year my heart is broken too.
When you are hurting how can you help others? I have discovered it's the best time to reach out. Who better to let others know that through the grips of great loss they can press on. While your heart aches you can still smile, even laugh and not be disrespectful to your loved one. This year I walk along side the many who will be trying to find comfort at the most uncomfortable time of their lives. Together we will make it, we must. Listening to a song this morning by Jeremy Camp put so much into perspective. He sang:
There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears.
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face.
But until that day, we will hold onto you always!Reach out to someone who is hurting even though you are in pain. God will honor your efforts and hold onto you ALWAYS!
