No this is not about Denis Leary on FX, actually I would like to share some thoughts gleaned from a sermon I read some time ago from a great pastor. In August of 2011, an access mine in Chile caved in trapping 33 men 2,000 feet underground for 69 days. Those above ground drilled a hole the size of a grapefruit to send food to the trapped miners. One of the men sent word to lower small Bibles to those below the earth. Once a hole was widened the width of their shoulders, each man was rescued. The first man out of the ground had on a t-shirt that read "Thank you Jesus".
This story caused me to ponder, what do you need rescued from? The stresses of life, attacks of others, a guilty conscience, fear of death or perhaps a life without direction. Either way, you don't have to be in a mine trapped, to feel like you are in a life that needs rescuing.
God cares about where you are and what you are doing. You don't have to go through the difficulties of life all alone.
Job 33:28 " He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light."
Wow! Enjoying the light no matter your circumstances. That is truly living.
As you proceed in this wonderful thing called life, your rescue could be right in front of you. Let's focus for a moment on the greatest rescue of all. It happened early one morning when a handful of people walked to a tomb only to find it empty!
