Romans 8:28, 29 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.”
Striving to become more like Christ often requires you to assess what you have to offer.
Mark 6:38 “How many loaves do you have? Jesus asked. Go and see. When they found out, they said, five small loaves of bread and two fish.”
The operative questions for all believers are “What do I have?” and “What am I going to do with it?”
God has blessed and provided for all of us in some way. Perhaps he has given you the ability to connect with several different types of people. Maybe He has opened the door of great financial opportunity. For some, He has given you a specific skill that you do in an outstanding fashion. The important thing is to focus on what you have and what you choose to do with it. God wants you to do all things for His glory.
Galatians 1:10 “Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Paul was addressing the issue of others teaching principles that people wanted to hear, rather than the truth. The need to be accepted and applauded was prevalent even in the first century. Still today, we often wrestle with desiring the approval of others. Facades are created in hopes that we will be perceived as being solid and stable, when the truth may be far from that. Our aim should be to please God with what is really inside us and strive for that to be clearly seen by others.
Q4U: God is calling. He wants to use you. Are you ready?
