Romans 8:28, 29 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.”
As you take on the characteristics of Christ, you will desire to give God whatever you have. Yesterday you read about the small boy who shared his lunch. Let’s look a little deeper in this great story.
Mark 6:41 “Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.
The small boy had undoubtedly come prepared to listen to Jesus all day. He brought his food with him. Yet when asked to share, he gave everything he had to the Lord. What I find interesting here is how this youngster set the principle of how to give.
God has given you all you have in this life. He entrusts you to manage your time, talents, relationships, and finances wisely.
Remember the Bible teaches that God loves a cheerful giver. Your attitude is just as important as your gifts. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and loves when you devote yourselves totally with a pleasant demeanor.
Now is the time! Paul teaches in the book of Ephesians that we are to “redeem the time”. If you wait to give God all you have when the time is just right, it will never happen. The best time is right now! Don’t put it off.
Q4U: God is calling. Will you share what you have with others?
