Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Life has two handles by which we may grasp it. One is the handle of fear; the other is the handle of faith. God's people have always been placed into situations in which a choice has to be made. They have been forced to either respond with fear and run away or respond with faith and deal with it head on. This is the exact situation that Moses and the children of Israel faced at the Red Sea. Picture this ... The Red Sea is in front of them; Pharaoh and his army are behind them; mountains on are both sides of them, and so they had to choose how to respond to the challenge.
Exodus 14:11-12 “They said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?”
We know that America is the land of opportunity, but in recent years it has become the land of safety first. Because of ridiculous lawsuits, companies have added warning labels to almost everything to protect themselves. Of course I agree with warnings that are needed for hazardous items, but it has gotten a little over the top. Car mirrors warn us about objects behind us. Pesticides warn us against internal consumption. Plastic bags warn us about suffocation. Hot coffee warns us that it is hot. You get the point. There is a certain degree of risk in most things. Simply leaving the house is risky, but you can’t stay inside forever. You can't live your life without taking risks.
The same is true with serving God. You will find that it is filled with risks as well. Living risk free promotes a life that is 100% safe and secure with no chances and no surprises. Guys, that is not the way God made you. He created you equipped to deal with risks. Don’t allow fear to take over.
Charles Swindoll wrote, “We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.”
Q4U: God is calling. He wants you quit playing it safe and trust Him.
