Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
The fear of failure is one of the main reasons you might not want to serve God. The desire to achieve great things is very compelling; however the worry of potential failure can keep you from even making an attempt. Failure is usually painful and we try to avoid pain.
So let’s investigate some causes of failure: • Arrogance – Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”
When placing yourself in a position of high regard you insulate your life from taking the spiritual risks that allow Godly events to happen. He works around you for His benefit.
• Disobedience – I John 5:3 “This is love for God: to obey His commands. And His commands are not burdensome.”
Partial obedience is complete disobedience. God wants you to follow His plan completely. You can’t pick and choose which commands you will follow.
• Doubt – James 1:6 “But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”
Taking risks by stepping out on faith can be hampered by doubt. God wants you to live by faith instead of simply wandering through life.
• Discouragement – Galatians 6:9 “We will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.”
Don’t let anything get in the way of following what God wants you to do.
Q4U: God is calling. He wants you quit playing it safe and trust Him.
