Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice when He laid down His life for you. His death on the cross was for you to have forgiveness of sin and eternal life. He teaches us about the desire you should have to sacrifice for others.
John 15:12,13 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”
Using the gifts God has given you to serve others is a sacrifice:
• Sacrifice of time
There are 168 hours in a week. No one has any more or less. This is the time you are given to use however you choose. There are essentially three things you can do with time. You can waste it and life seems to be about nothing. You can spend it and life becomes all about you. Or, you can invest it. This is how you give of yourself to others.
• Sacrifice of ability
Everyone has the ability to do something. You may question whether you are
good at something or not, but you have God-given skills to share.
• Sacrifice of money
II Corinthians 9:12 “This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”
Paul wrote to the churches in Corinth to encourage their work and willingness to give to sacrificially give to others.
Q4U: God is calling. Are you willing to make some sacrifices?
