Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Many years ago, I was asked to run the sound equipment in my home church. A new auditorium had just been built and the man who had taken care of the audio system was being transferred by his company out of state. Absolutely no one had shown any interest in serving in this area. The problem for me was simple - I did not know anything about this kind of audio equipment. The soundboard was huge, the auditorium was very large and the working pieces of this operation were enormous. After several weeks, I became really frustrated and got tired of everyone telling me to turn it down or turn it up! I didn’t want to quit, but I questioned God, “Why me?” Who would have known that this experience would prepare me for my future as a Pastor? God knew! I have used this knowledge at every stop in my ministry.
There are times God will ask you to do something you feel totally unqualified to do. Moses was asked by God to return to Egypt and be His mouthpiece in setting the children of Israel free. Moses was afraid that his inability to speak well and his fear of going back to a hostile place would interfere with the work of God.
Exodus 3:14 “God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.”
Whatever God sends you to do, hold onto the fact that He will be whatever He needs to be, in order for you to fulfill the calling of God.
Q4U: God is calling. Will you do what He asks even though you are not sure if you can do it?
