Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
David had an exciting life. As a small boy he found himself a shepherd tending his family’s flock. The prophet Samuel came to Jessie, David’s father, looking for one of his sons to tap as the eventual King of Israel. After going through all of the sons of Jessie, David the youngest son was called out and chosen to one day inherit the throne. He fought wild animals, Saul the King of Israel, Goliath the Philistine giant and armies from all over the world. This unlikely hero chosen by Samuel was given the title – “A man after God’s own heart.”
1 Samuel 1:13 “the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people.”
Even though David was a great man of God, he was not without his own struggles. He made some poor decisions that caused people to lose their lives and his family to go into a terrible downward spiral. However, in Psalm 51, he called out to God and asked that his joy be restored. God answered.
Whatever you may be struggling with, our loving God is always ready and willing to forgive and restore you.
Q4U: God is calling. He has a task especially for you. Will you carry out what He tells you to do?
