Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Jeremiah was called by God to proclaim to his own people the impending judgment that was coming to the children of Israel, because of their unfaithfulness to God. Throughout his ministry, Jeremiah struggled with loneliness and even depression, as he followed the calling God had placed upon his life. His desire was to be faithful, but walking in the manner God had set before him was not always easy. In fact it was very difficult.
When you accept the plans God has for you it may not always be a painless venture. It may lead you to situations that cause hurt and even devastation, but God will always be near. He will walk with you and if necessary He will carry you. Remember - the things God wants you to do can only be carried out if you allow Him the freedom to use and sustain you. Because of this you will grow stronger and closer to God.
Jeremiah 1:4-8 “The word of the LORD came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." "Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child." But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.”
As was the case for Jeremiah, when you are faithful to fulfilling the course God has set for you, He will bring it to a wholesome conclusion.
Q4U: God is calling. Will you do what He asks even though it might be very difficult?
