Many years ago, Sonya and I sat in a courtroom in Columbus, Ohio. We were there to finalize the adoption of our oldest son Luke. After the exchange of information and specific documentation, the judge looked at us and said, “Once I make the final decree, that Luke Wesley Griffith is your son, there isn’t anything that can change that fact. He will forever be the child of Danny and Sonya Griffith. Do you have anything to say?” Sonya had a smile that would have brightened up any cave. I stated, “This is exactly how God brings us into His family. He adopts us out of unconditional love!”
In the first century, when a child was adopted, the boy or girl was forever a part of that family. Birth children could be severed from a family for various reasons, but not those who were adopted. God welcomes you into His inner circle without any recourse of letting you go. Why? Because of His great love for you.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
God’s first calling in your life is to accept His love. As a thirteen-year-old boy, I made the choice to invite Christ into my heart. Since then I have never been the same.
Q4U: God is calling. Have you made the decision to accept Christ?
