Ephesians 1:4, 5 “For he chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will.”
I heard a story about an American soldier in war-torn Europe right after World War II had ended. On a cold wintery evening, this soldier set out to buy some donuts. When he got to the store, he noticed a little boy standing outside staring into the bakery. The youngster looked cold and hungry as he peered through the glass window. The little boy must have been imaging how wonderful it would be to get a taste of just one donut. After the soldier made his purchase and walked outside, he stopped and asked the boy if he was hungry. “Yes, sir!” The boy quickly replied. Without hesitation, the soldier handed the entire box to the little lad. With a look of delight and amazement, the little boy asked, “Hey Mister, is your name Jesus?”
It has been said that a true test of character is revealed by how you treat a person who can’t do anything for you. It allows others to see God at work.
Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
There will be many people who cross your path with no concept of God or Jesus Christ. They may not own a Bible or know anything about the plan of salvation. These are the very ones God calls you to reach out to. Impact them through your actions and be ready to give an answer as to why you live by faith. You may be the only “Jesus” that some people will ever see.
I Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
