Hebrews 2:10 “In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.”
God wants you to have healthy lasting relationships. Those connections are developed from family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and the church. Investing time with others strengthens the bonds between you and the other person. God is honored when you make loving others a priority.
One of the best ways to heighten the connection with some one else is to actually spend time with them. I will always remember the time at our former church, when I came home from one of the planning meetings for the construction of our new building. Weeks had passed where most nights I gathered with others to make the needed decisions on how, where and when to build. Upon my arrival home one evening, one of my sons asked me if he could be on one of the church committees. Puzzled, I asked him why? He replied, “Maybe I could spend some more time with you then.” Ouch! The lesson learned that night was simple. Nothing is more important than people. Especially my own people!
Sharing God’s love must be your greatest drive and ambition. Impacting others by sharing time and effort can have an eternal effect. The Apostle Paul explains that life without love is pointless.
I Corinthians 13:3 “If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.”
The way you treat others will leave a lasting legacy of love.
